Residential City Heritage
Industrial chic complements ancient stone arches in historic Valletta
The Project
This two-bedroom maisonette in Valletta – Malta’s capital city and UNESCO World Heritage Site, also crowned World’s Best City by Condé Nast Traveller in 2025 – masterfully bridges centuries through thoughtful design that honours architectural heritage whilst embracing contemporary living.
Original stone block arches sweep dramatically across the kitchen ceiling, now paired with polished concrete floors and bronze-finished surfaces for striking contrast. Throughout the home, light wood-effect flooring and taupe walls create warmth, whilst panel moulding frames carefully chosen artwork and accent lighting.
The bedrooms reveal exposed timber beams crowned with shaker wall panelling, creating intimate retreats perfect for city guests. Even the shower room celebrates history, preserving original salmon tiling as a distinctive backdrop. Every element works in harmony to create a home that feels both rooted in Valletta’s past and perfectly suited to modern life.

Heritage Preserved
